Embedded Firmware Engineer
We are looking for exceptional Embedded Firmware Engineer candidates excited to work on leading edge technology that directly improves people’s quality of life and help the environment as well.
You will own all aspects of the embedded software system including architecture, implementation, testing, and production. Our system is battery-powered and wireless with two different radios – BLE and sub-giga Hertz long-range radio using a
proprietary protocol. The system is, by definition, heavily duty cycled to conserve energy with the goal of providing long battery life.
Your Responsibilities:
• Reach technical goals, propose solutions and validate those solutions by testing code in the target systems
• Create well architected and designed firmware that is understandable, well documented and effectively tested
• Interface with low level system components including sensors, power control, Bluetooth radio, sub-Gig radio
• Debug and fix software issues in embedded systems
• Achieve schedule commitments by creating plans that meet them and taking the initiative to identify and address impediments
Skills and Qualifications:
• 7+ years of experience developing embedded microcontroller applications with wireless components
• 5+ years of experience with C, C++
• Experience with ARM tools for compilation and debugging (Cortex M4 preferred) • Deep experience with low power embedded systems (preferably battery powered)
• Knowledge of communications protocols such as I2C, SPI and UARTs
• Experience working directly with microcontroller elements such as ADCs, timers, PWMs, GPIO
• Experience using development tools such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, signal generators, power supplies and embedded electronics • Experience with ZigBee, Z-Wave or equivalent wireless protocol standards
• Experience with Silicon Labs Gecko-series of processors desirable
Experience:
We are looking for a self-motivated engineer with a 7+ years or more years of experience in a fast-paced environment. A degree as Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Engineering is a must as well as excellent spoken and written English.

Hand Assembly and Thru-Hole Technician
Full Time, Permanent Position, Available Immediately
Hourly Pay Range: $20.00-$22.00

Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or higher
- Good understanding of the English language
- Basic Computer Skills
- Strong Electronics aptitude/knowledge of components
- Strong understanding and working ability of IPC-A-610 Standards for Hand Assembly and Thru-hole Assembly
- Strong Analytical Skills-Strong working knowledge of mathematical concepts such as fractions, ratios and proportions
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to work with a Microscope
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to analyze and interpret information
- Minimum 2 years of inspection or production experience
- Quality conscious, well organized, analytical, and reliable
Required Capabilities/Responsibilities
- Responsible for assembling, soldering, and inspecting electronic components onto printed circuit boards. Ensuring secure electrical and mechanical connections for devices subject to high stress or mechanical load.
- Responsible for component preparation, component insertion, soldering, quality inspection, rework and repair, testing when required.
- Ability to read bill of materials, work instructions and schematics
- Able to inspect boards, components under the microscope
- Develop and maintain inspection reports/ Prepare and maintain test data for review
- Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards
- Communicate assembling, soldering and quality or compliance concerns with urgency
- Adheres to company Health and Safety policies, corrects unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately
- Other duties could include working in other department of the production including but not limited to Through Hole departments to provide support during absences or shortage of staff
- Requires flexibility and understanding that all operator staff including hand assembly personnel may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the mission and goals of the Company and Production Manager
Quality Control (QC) Technician
Full Time, Permanent Position, Available Immediately
Hourly Pay Range: $19.00-$21.00

- High School diploma or higher

- Strong Electronics aptitude/knowledge of components

Required Capabilities/Responsibilities
- Responsible for inspecting, testing, and monitoring products and materials to ensure they meet strict safety, industry, and company standards
- Responsible for identifying defects early, preventing faulty items from reaching consumers, and maintaining consistent quality throughout the production process
- Responsible for testing materials and finished products to ensure they conform to all applicable laws and company standards.
- Ability to read bill of materials, work instructions and schematics
- Able to inspect boards, components under the microscope. Includes raw material checks, in-process testing, final product evaluation and measuring and gauging
- Develop and maintain inspection reports/prepare and maintain test data for review. Evaluate data and draft reports, noting any relevant deviations from existing standards. This includes logging data, creating reports and tracking non-conformances
- Maintain calibration of quality control equipment. This includes basic calibration checks on measuring and production equipment
- Identify areas for quality control improvement and implement new methods accordingly
- Communicate quality or compliance concerns with urgency
- Adheres to company Health and Safety policies, corrects unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately
- Other duties could include working in other department of the production including but not limited to Through Hole departments to provide support during absences or shortage of staff

Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Maintenance Technician
Full Time, Permanent Position, Immediate opening
Hourly Pay Range: $24.00-$28.00

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum College degree in Industrial Electronics and Electrical Maintenance, Industrial Maintenance technology, Mechatronics Technology
- Good English skills (comprehension, written & spoken)
- Minimum three years of SMT equipment maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of Solder Paste Printing and Solder Reflow Processes
- Strong ability to diagnose faults in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems using diagnostic instruments like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic probes
- Solid experience and knowledge of operating and maintaining Pick and Place machines: Universal and JUKI machines, Reflow ovens, AOI and SPI machines as well as automated testing fixtures
- Proficient in the use of Electrical and Electronics Measurement equipment
- Ability to perform fine-pitch soldering, component replacement, and PCB rework
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) and machine programming software.
- Ability to analyze and interpret information from Schematics, electrical drawings/diagrams, engineering drawings, blueprints and equipment manuals
- Quality conscious, well organized, and reliable
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member
- Must demonstrate ability to work safely and in an organized manner
Required Capabilities:
- Ability to execute corrective and preventive actions using the established methodologies and procedures
- Report Lost Time Incidents, root cause analysis and corrective action
- Ability to assist in SMT line change overs and track equipment performance levels
- Ability to establish and manage preventive and corrective maintenance program
- Ability to train operators on daily and weekly machine/equipment maintenance procedures
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and IPC-A-610 standards, ESD and WHMIS
- Ability to be flexible with work hours, working weekends and evenings from time to time
